Through dedication and hard work, the students and instructors are tested. Exams are held every year for all those who are ready to advance on the karate path.
Competition is not mandatory at Karaté Do Lachine, but students who wish to participate in tournaments are prepared and supervised according to the regulations of Karaté Québec and the WKF (World Karate Federation). Here are some of their performances:
Karate Do Lachine organizes several local tournaments, the aim of which is to accustom and introduce young and very young beginners to competition, in a fun and engaging context.
For those interested in athletic performance, the competition circuit in which our students participate includes the Montreal Games, the Quebec Games, the Regional Finals, the Quebec Cup, the Montreal Open, selections for the provincial team and the Commonwealth Karate Championship. For those aiming for performance at the international level, many opportunities open up in advanced and elite level tournaments.
Throughout the year, we hold special practices and public demonstrations, at community events in Montreal and during Fêtes de Lachine. These gatherings strengthen the family spirit in our dojo and community and let people see traditional karate up close.
We take part in several seminars every year, hosted by special guests from other countries — to mention only a few of them: Japan, the United States, Canada, Romania, Colombia and more. These sessions are a rare chance to train under masters from outside Québec and to bring that knowledge back to the dojo.
